Florida Representative

Jacques Thomet

7th Dan

Sensei Jacques is a senior figure in the martial arts and UKAI is glad to have him. He began his training in 1966 in both karate and judo. He achieved Shodan in karate under Sensei Kase in France on 7/31/71. He switched styles to Sankukai and Aikido and was awarded Nidan on 6/2/72 and made Sandan on 4/10/77. Both of those grades were awarded by Sensei Nanbu as was his Yondan which was awarded on 12/23/80. In 1980 Sensei Thomet entered the SKIF under Sensei Kanazawa and completed his instructor training course as well as the examiners course.

Competetively he won the Italian Championship in the OPEN division of full contact Kyokushinkai the first time on 7/12/89 and in 1990 he won the same championship a second time. At this time he was awarded 7th Dan from the President and CEO of CONI (Committee Olympic National Italy) Mr. M.E. Modena. In 1996 Sensei Thomet decided to immigrate to the United States so he took his vast experience in teh martial arts and decided to develop his own style called Worldwide Tenshindo. This was neccessary for him to be able to immigrate and gain a proper VISA.

He associated with the JSKA for a short while until deciding on attending a camp by a group formerly known as USA-SKF and IUKO. He saw teh hard dedicated training he was used to in Europe and decidided to affiliate. He was then chosen to be the representative for the state of Florida for his experience and ideas on how traditional karate should be imparted to students.
