Lopresti's MMAfeaturing Aiki Kenpo Jujutsu |
|
Mr Paul Lopresti, ranked 5th Degree Black Belt in Aiki Kenpo Jujutsu, studies this modern interpretation of the ancient fighting tradition of Jujutsu. It is certainly an art form to be studied as well as an effective means of self defense and very effective for street or the octagon!! Jujutsu (柔術, literally meaning the "art of softness"), is a Japanese martial art which emphasizes throwing techniques, joint manipulations and the striking of vital areas in order to effectively control, subdue or injure an attacker. Jujutsu has many ryuha (流派, literally "mainstream school") based on either Koryu (古流, literally old stream or classical) traditions with a clear lineage handed down from generation to generation or Gendai budo (現代武道, meaning "modern martial way"), generally based on modern interpretations of pre Meiji Restoration Japanese armed and unarmed martial traditions. Korye taking silver in his Gi division. Funny how the kid who took gold is still a white belt after two years. Love these divisions.
Not to worry. He took gold in No Gi on the same day.
